“THE PASTOR’S DESK – MAY 2016”

Isaiah 60:1-2

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!.

This was the theme for the Women’s revival conference which took place the weekend of 8-9 April. God used two women, Mrs Shwana and Dr Ngcakani-Ncula (guest speakers) to encourage and challenge women in various ways. This was a time of introspection as well as a time to make decisions and venture out of the safety of our ‘comfort’ and see how God wants to use us. What a blessed time!

We were reminded that God is calling us to ‘holiness and purity’, to be separated from the world and let the ‘Holy one’ (God) control our every move.

It was highlighted that we all have areas of ‘bareness’ in our lives but God wants us to be fruitful!

As women, we understand the concept of a ‘birthing process’. It does not involve comfort!

This is a new season for women of Cornerstone, as the Lord is calling forth women for His purpose, women who will come out of their comfort zones, withholding nothing and going all the way!. Whatever it takes! It is God who must revive us again. It is not human work!

When a woman decides to do something, she does it wholeheartedly. Look at single women raising children alone, some of whom have become good leaders! This kind of commitment is seen in the numbers of those who attend Women’s prayer every second Tuesday. This is where women approach the altar of the Almighty God, seek Him and connect with Him. Prayer is a vehicle we’ve been given to touch heaven and when we begin to move in God’s perfect timing and begin to pray in accordance with what God is doing, we will begin to bear much fruit, fruit that will last! These are indeed times of refreshing!

“Yet who knows that you have come to the Kingdom, for such a time as this!” Esther 4:14 God does not always choose the most likely, or the most talented to do His work or to bring blessings to the body of Christ. He has placed each one of us, young or old in a unique position, whatever our upbringing or background, whatever our ability, whatever our present circumstances, the Lord Jesus Christ wants to raise us up, equip us, and release us to advance His Kingdom, in preparation for His return.

Our Iintombi ministry has been unpacking it’s theme for this year 2016 ‘ Act out your Faith’ taken from the book of Ruth 1 :14c (But Ruth clung to her). Now is the time for exceptional young women who will cling to older women. It’s time for the older women who are prepared to make a difference in their generation. Our future is created by what we do today not tomorrow! What we do NOW will affect our future! It is time for change. Iintombi’s have shown an interest in being part of a revamped ‘Mother – daughter’   program which is soon to begin and mothers are urged to be part of this program. Isaiah 43:19 – See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
