Current Projects

  • Soup Kitchen
The Soup Kitchen feeds over 70 people bi-weekly, in the Cornerstone Assembly Port Elizabeth.
The team meets in the morning every second week on Saturday the vegetables and meat are prepared and served at 13H00. Intercession and prayer happens before the distribution and a ministry team meets and prays with children and the elderly while the soup is distributed.
  • Walmer Pre-School Project
The Cornerstone Assembly Church adopted a crèche in 2013 located in one of the disadvantaged townships of Port Elizabeth called Walmer location. The name of the crèche is INIMBA YABAFAZI DAY CARE. Through this project the church is able to provide day care needs of the children, soup kitchen monthly and evangelism.
  • Winter Project
The Care Ministry also has a Winter Project, where the team asks the congregation to donate blankets and winter clothes to give to those in needs during winter time.

Intercession is deeper groaning and pleading with God on behalf of our needs and the needs of the community. Anyone who has such spiritual burden and willing to stand in the gap is most welcome to join the team every Friday 6pm. We base intercession on Ezekiel 22 v 30: “I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.”

The Youth and Young Adults is the ministry of the church that is conducted for, with and by the young people. The Youth and Young Adults ministry seeks to raise a generation of vibrant young people that will be full of the Holy Spirit (Joel 2:28), young people who has an Understanding of the times (1 Chronicles 2:12), that will follow the ways of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 13) and operate in the Gifts of the Spirit, especially Prophesy (1 Corinthians 14:4).

The purpose of the Youth and Young Adults ministry is to teach young people the word of God, to help them grow spiritually and to be rooted in the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11). To prepare young people to live a holy life and offer themselves in service to the Kingdom of God.

The ministry strive to develop strategies and programmes that are relevant to the young people. Strategies and programmes that are based on the word of God and developed by the help of the Holy Spirit. We believe being a word based ministry will foster the personal development of individual gifts, thus making it possible to drive young people towards spiritual maturity. This will enrich the Kingdom of God with vibrant, youthful and faithful servants who have the ability to minister to others and assist in the vision of Restoring, Rebuilding and Impacting.

The Youth and Young Adults meet on Saturdays at 16H00. The young people are also responsible for organising the youthful services that take place on Sunday evenings at 18H00.
